# Foundry

> Foundry issues USDF, a dollar for compute. 1 USDF = $1 of compute, redeemable 1:1 for USDG at any time.

Every model, one balance, paid in a dollar that earns. One USDF balance pays for every listed model and Foundry tool through one OpenAI-compatible API. Every model is below its source price, and the cheapest provider wins every request. USDF is backed 1:1 by Global Dollar (USDG), issued by Paxos, never expires, and is bought, swapped and redeemed with a wallet alone. Holding USDF earns: half of network revenue, shared every hour by balance and time held, and paid in USDF to holders' wallets with nothing to claim while hourly payouts are switched on (GET /v1/holders/rewards says whether they are).
